Pro-ACT is a program designed to provide professionals with the opportunity to develop the necessary understanding and skills to avoid or reduce the need for physical intervention. Pro-ACT principles focus on maintaining the safety and dignity of the student while keeping staff safe. The ultimate goal is to help students learn alternative methods for meeting their needs and develop internal self-control skills.
Participants in this two-day course will learn how to respond to disruptive behaviors in the least intrusive way including evasion, blocking, redirection as well as when and how to move to the next steps of intervention.
