This session supports educators in understanding how the Reading Difficulties Risk Screener (RDRS) applies to multilingual learners and how to interpret Amira results in ways that help us understand what reflects language development and what may signal a reading need. Participants explore screening requirements, MLL-specific considerations, and student profile questions that reveal what data is needed beyond the screener. Using a guidance tool and case studies, educators practice determining which supports belong in iELD, dELD, or literacy intervention. The session closes with practical strategies for designing instruction that is responsive, equitable, and grounded in evidence-based practice. More
